Ta-da!

Drum roll please....well CC (that is Christy for short in blog land because I'm lazy) and I FINALLY are on the blog train together!  So, have patience while we change things up a bit - a little bling, a little paint, a lot of junk - you get the picture!  We hope that by having the two of us posting we can get more junktastic stuff out there!  (I think I just made up a word and I LOVE it!)  Anyhow, have a great evening and look for great things to come!  Here is a little peek of some recent thrift finds...
This glass base is actually off an old lamp!  I love it! I added an old crystal ashtray to the top along with a candle, pretty stinkin awesome I think! Found another Scrabble game, they are a very rare find these days!  Also some old books that I have BIG plans for...

Also nabbed an old Bingo game, complete with these great little wood letters...BIG plans for this too!
Blessings, Kristen

What else have I been up too?

With all the utter controlled chaos that goes on in our buy lives, I decided that we as in me need to redo our bedroom.  Now I suppose you can call it the master bedroom but really, in a little rambler of a house, you don't get much "master" in master bedroom!  Ha!  Anyhow I found an auction online in which I bid for some furniture...I had looked everywhere for some furniture to redo for our MB but wasn't having much luck so I tried this online auction thing for the first time!  And I have to say, I was nervous as it is sight unseen (except for the pictures provided) but I was very happy with it.  I paid a little bit more than I had hoped for but I knew these would be awesome...and they have 15 drawers between them...a girl can NEVER have too many drawers or organization!  Here they are as seen by the auction pictures...

I know, pretty aren't they...pretty ugly at this point but oh I KNEW they had such potential!

Once I saw them (in real life) I knew I had to step out of my comfort zone...I decided to go with bluish-gray walls and BLACK (yes, I put BLACK in my house) furniture!  I love black furniture and most of the furniture I redo and sell is black but I don't have one black peice in my house so this, my friends, was a huge deal for me...the hubster was even surprised!  I know...I was a little nervous at this point.  Anyhow, remember I said 15 drawers!!!

I brought them all in to paint in my dining room due to...

This!  There is no painting in the garage when it's this cold!  Yuck!

Here they are in all their glory...I love them!

Look at the detail...so pretty!

(Don't mind my wire shelf I have stored underneath...I didn't realize you could see it so well!)

Now here is a vintage (Sorry Mom!) dress...it was my Mom's as a toddler.  She gave it to me a couple of years ago so I washed it up and made an awesome little white hanger, complete with a paper flower and vintage tag...I love it and it let me put some WHITE in our room.  The color of the wall doesn't show up very well here...it looks baby blue and it isn't.  Its more of a gray blue which I do love!  I love the contrast of the black, white, and blue!

Here is another of her dress, it is so cute!  I hung the necklace I won from it as the necklace is too pretty to not show off!  (Pitter patter goes my heart!)
Overall the hubster, who left for work in the morning and came home to the majority of the room complete...things it looks good.  Did I mention he's color blind though?  Haha!  Until next time!  Hugs and keep warm!

I won!!!

Now most of you know that I am a stalker!  Of blogs that is!!!  Anyhow I found a new blogger that I love, love, love and she was having an awesome giveaway.  Now I don't enter many giveaways as I really just don't have the time or the patience but I loved her items so I thought "what the heck?" and gave it a whirl and I WON!!!!  (Envision me doing the happy dance in my jammies when I found out!)  =)  Here is the link to her blog:  http://petticoatsandpatina.blogspot.com/
Petticoats&Patina

Imagine my excitement when this arrived...

...and that is just the wrapping and card...I know right?!

Here are the lovely items inside the lovely package!
A beautiful, vintagy (there is that word again) old book and a beautiful necklace. The hubster came upstairs to see what me and Kate were googling about and said, "sheesh I thought you won the lottery!"  Duh?  I did!  The pretty, vintagy, white lottery!  So thank you so much Shawna!  I love, love, love my things! Check out her site and all it's awesomeness!

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone survived the Cmas chaos had a great Christmas and New Year!  Christmas break went so fast but (for once) I was ready to see the girls get back into school and on a schedule!  I hope Santa brought everyone what their little hearts desired and everyone made unforgetable memories with family and friends.  Speaking of Santa, what does he bring a junker...hmmm...
A plug in drill!  What a perfect gift...this way the hubster and I don't have to play the blame game totally his fault as to who didn't recharge the battery pack for our cordless drill (and we have two battery packs!) I know!!!  Awesome gift right? Who would have thunk?!

Another awesome gift...a belt sander!  It has been in my dreams for a long, long time!  Don't you just love how Santa knows just the right gift a junker girl needs!  Can't wait to try her out!

As most know my goal this year was to make (or buy from local artists or stores) the majority of my Christmas gifts.  I think I did fairly well with the adult gifts we had to buy.  This little bench was a dumpster find by the hubster which we redid for the inlaws!  (Yes, the inlaws know where it came from!)  This pic is after it had been cleaned, the top had been added as she was topless (that sounds so x-rated) and it was sanded down - she was a terrible fright before all those makeovers.  My mother in law asked if we could add a board to the bottom so she could add some baskets for storage.  So the hubby did his magic and I was left to the painting and cushion - the fun, creative part if you ask me!!!
Not so great!!!

Ta-da!!!  Here she is all done!  We think it turned out great and the baskets add more storage, which we know a girl can NEVER have too much storage...just saying!
Here are some bedspring, wine lighted bottle thingys!  Hubby drilled a hole in the wine bottle and added the lights!  I added my creative touch to the bed springs!
**Just an FYI - drilling the holes in the wine bottles isn't easy but drinking the wine is sure fun! Ha!

Some bed spring candles or "shot glass on a spring" that my brother recieved from us!  Everyone needs a shotglass in a spring...its the gift that keeps giving!  Okay, those were words from his mouth.  The 30- something bachelor pretty much thought it was the stupidest gift but boy did we laugh (all night) about his reaction! Good times!  Anyhow I told him it's a great conversation peice for all those first dates he goes on...hint, hint!  Settle down already and give me some neices or nephews!!!!

A close up of some tags I made for some wine springs!  I love them!  Shabby, vintagey (is that a word?), and glittery.  Pitter-patter goes my heart!

Cute little lights that can be used anywhere!

Lastly I'll say goodnight with one of the very few new Cmas decorations I bought this year!  I bought these adoreable little ice skates up at The Red Poppy!  I am in love, love, love with them!  I actually decided to keep them out all winter!  They are so vintagey (there is that word again!) and they are WHITE!!!!  My favorite!  I love vintage, shabby chic, chippy white!  Love, love, love it!  There is a blog that I follow often which I will link up to this week...its White Wednesday...ahhhhh.  Be still my heart!  Hugs until next time!
