Let there be paint...and spring!

Does anyone else have spring fever?! Now that it is warming up, I just want to be outside painting and creating! Forget the daily housework, forget the laundry, forget spring cleaning...that's what husbands are for!!! Haha! Last weekend it was beautiful for Minnesota so I opened the garage doors and painted away....here is one example of the amazing power of paint!
Really, really ugly isn't she? But the price was right and she had great bones!

Tada...afterward!
I love it! Its shabby, distressed, and with the vintage knobs...perfect! I saw the idea for the numbers at Pottery Barn and loved the look! This little gem is available at The Red Poppy! Linking up to Domestically Speakings paint party! I love paint!

Now for my love of white....pitter patter goes my heart!

Picked up these paper mache forms from a thrift store...not cute!

Here they are after Kate and I mod-podged vintage sheet music to them! Love, love, love!
These took awhile (about 3 hours!) so I wanted to keep them, however, Kate thought we should sell them because I told her she could keep the money...what was I thinking? So these lovelies are up at the shop...I'm secretly hoping they don't sell so I can sneak them back home! Does that make me a bad mom? =)

Here are some more "loves". I love the pedestal wood bowl. All shabbed out with the vintage covered eggs..."sigh!" I love them! The trays with the vintage paper in the background are also favorites!

A close up of the eggs...just used vintage music sheet, modge podge, and plastic eggs! Super easy but it was a little timely...however, when you are doing it with your 11 year old who still thinks you're cool...priceless! Linking up to White Wednesday party!

Enjoy your day! Hugs!

Easy shabby photo blocks!

What to do when it's minus 5000 degrees in Minnesota, you have a sick 9 year old home from school, and you, yourself, are feeling a little cruddy? Grab some scraps and get creating! I made these little picture blocks years ago and had 3 left over that have just been kicking around in my crap creative room!

These were so easy to make...like I said, I made them a long time ago but I just took a 2x2 and cut it into little squares, drilled a hole at the top, took some wire and bent it into the shapes, then just hot glued the wire into the hole I had drilled.  I did paint the wood blocks an off white.  That was it! Cute little picture holders for next to nothing - you probably could use any old scrap wood you have taking up space around the garage!

I stamped some material I had with an awesome little french script background stamp. I use Staz on ink for these types of things...it works excellent and doesn't fade.

Then I took a bunch of scraps and embellishments I had laying around...some old, some new. I just started glueing and creating...no pattern, no thinking, just random "thoughtlessness"! My fave!

I took two pics of the girls and changed them to B&W, resized, and added them.

I didn't add pics to the bottom two...I don't know if I'll use them for gifts or put them up at The Red Poppy!  We'll have to see!

A close up of Kate...
A closeup of Carly...
The finished project on a fab little shelf!

Just a note...the hubby calls my craft room the "crap" room...most of the time he is right...it's such a disaster that you could lose a small child in there! It's my creative room....messy as it is, it's mine and it's my little piece of sanity when I need it...and in my defense (my brainiac train of thinking) is I don't want to waste my creative time cleaning it up so I just work away..."crap" and all!

Easy, easy, easy project AND I got rid of some stuff (even though it's little...it counts) from the crap creative, craft room! Hugs! Kristen

I'm linking up to Fab Friday - great ideas, check it out!
